Tried to get a table at an adjacent restaurant and the wait was crazy long. While waiting I walked past this place and few times and heard the Haitian music which had me intrigued. Decided to check it out instead of waiting. I am so happy we opted to dine here instead. The food was amazing. We had the kreyol shrimp, diri jon and fried snapper. Well season and delicious. I will definitely return and recommend to others. The owners and staff were so pleasant. If you're on the LES definitely check it out. Also the cocktails are yummy too. Good food good music good vibes.

Last was my first time at Rebel and won't be my last. Its was definitely a vibe. Me and my besties was greeted by a great staff, the owner was kind and food was amazing.

Newly opened the past month. Formerly Minnie's on Clinton. They actually still had the old awning titled Minnie's so we got confused at first on the actual location of the place. Understated but chic decor. Relaxed ambiance with great soundtrack. Their walls had inspiring paintings from Kervin Andre who coincidently was dining there the same night we did. The owners and staff were friendly and attentive. I hear they sometimes rotate chefs, chef Dominique mastered all of our dishes Drinks: We started out with their sangria lakay, Rebel punch then progressed to the Kreyòl punch and Hispaniola. All drinks were well balanced and creative. I favored mostly the Kreyòl punch (pango with dark barbancourt) Our food arrived promptly. As appetizers, we enjoyed the Macaroni au gratin and Rebel Wings. For entrées, we had the Rebel Griot and Shrimp and grits. As a Haïtian, really impressed with their black rice. It was really flavorful. The griot was juicy. My shrimp and grits came in a super large portion, so much that I took the bulk home. It was an impressive first visit. Will certainly be back on different occasions.
